Color and Monitors

Monitors are notorious for representing color differently from one to the next. Even the same make and model can show colors quite differently. For those who remember WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), it's a fallacy. Monitors show projected light whereas hardcopies/press sheets/hard proofs show reflective light.

Have you ever been to a store that sells TVs? Look at all the TVs along the wall and you will see each TV's color is different. Your computer monitor is no different. What you really need to know is "How will this look when it comes off the printing press?"

The key is color calibrated hardcopy proofing. It will show with accuracy what to expect when judging the color on the final product. Why? Because our offset presses and our proofing device have been calibrated to the GRACoL Standard.

Never trust your monitor completely when color is very critical. Supply Graphic Impressions with your images and let us print a random proof so that you know how our presses will print your work.
